Abstract

Relates John Dewey's educational philosophy to the theoretical bases of service-learning and experiential education. Elaborates on two fundamental principles for evaluating educative quality of experience, the principle of continuity and the principle of interaction. Three implications of Dewey's two principles are presented, including the concept of service learning as a philosophy of experiential education.
